My very own little place on the web.
I'm a graduate student in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University. On April 24th, 2001, I defended my thesis and am currently actively looking for employment. For anyone interested, my resume is available in word format in a short and long version. .
To aid in browsing, I've compartmentalised my rich and varied life into neat, easily digestible sections.
Work
I work on machine learning on problems involving the
classification of hypertext. The hammer I use is something
called Relational Learning. You might find it interesting,
then again, you might not.
Friends
A selection of people I call friends. Some of them even have
their own little places on the web.
Computers
Amazing objects which fascinate me no end. My first was a
Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K. I now get to play with bigger better
toys.
Stuff
The odd time I do get to surf for pleasure, many and varied
gems turn up unexpectedly. I've collected them and put them
here for your pleasure (and so as I can find them for myself
when I'm in the mood).
Pittsburgh
I've been here since 1993, and quite frankly, in spite of what
others think of this city, I like it. It's on a scale I can deal
with, unlike New York or Boston (not that they don't have their
own unique charms). It also has quite a number of attractions,
in the form of nightclubs, café's museums and of course,
top notch research institutions.
