Continue up the main road. Piccolo Mondo is on the left (I think their canopy is red). Wings, Suds, and Spuds - Wings - best - airport Rib House - Wings - Murray (SqH) Good - get hot "buffalo wings" Aussie's - Wings, Good , Liberty (BF) Zamfino's - Wings - Great - Off east Ohio on (NS), AYCE $5 sometimes SOD - South Oakland Dive - Wings Great (OAK) Artery - Ellsworth (ShS) - Wings - Variety of Sauces The Lube (Quaker Steak and Lube) - Sharon, Pa - Best Wings around --- French: ======= LaForet - Good*3 - expensive, voted best restaurant - Highland park on Bryant Street Cafe Allegro - Good*2 - (SS), off Carson Le Pommier - Good Simply French - Good, and cheaper, bring your own wine Au Petit Paris -- Exquisite old French and seasonal fair, a fabulous wine selection, deserts to dream about. The owner/chef takes the time to visits each table and really talk to you, making sure you're having the best experience possible (without being obtrusive about it). Reasonably priced. A true five star restaurant. Just one drawback -- it's about a 2 hour drive away in Frostburg, MD. But consider making an evening of it -- it's well worth it. They consistently draw business not only from Pittsburgh, but from D.C. as well. It's that good. --- Mexican and Spanish: ==================== Fajita Grill - Good*4, Mexican, <> now has a lot of seafood too. Hungry Jose's - Mexican - Good, Not Good Jose & Tony' - McFarland Rd. Excellent Mexican Santa Fe - Mexican - Good Santa Fe is on the orange belt in the south hills, just of Route 19. Take Route 19 south past Border's bookstore and South Hills Village mall. Continue for a mile or two until until you see the orange belt signs. Santa Fe will be on your left, but you have to exit Route 19 to the right and loop around to get there. They have an all-you-can-eat fajita night that isn't bad, and the price is low. Santa Fe's menu is more nouveau-Southwestern than Mexican. Franklin Inn - Mexican - Good*2 but far away, Bad, expensive lots of food Tequila Junction - Station Square, Very Good, $15 Mayorca - Spanish - Good - Carson Str, near Bridge, a bit $$ --- Misc, expensive: ================ Grand Concourse - next to Station Square - $12 Excellent seafood plus, spectacular setting. Sunday Brunch is a must. Poli's - excellent seafood, in a 1950's "good restaurant" setting. <> Cross Keys Inn - American cuisine (roasts, lamb, etc.) in a colonial setting (a former stagecoach inn). The Hyeholde - Game, Seafood, and exquisite daily preparations using seasonal ingredients in a reproduction of an English manor house.
