From CMU:
2. Go past Shady to the next light which is Beechwood Blvd and take a right.
3. Go down hill for about 200 yards to a stop sign which is Beacon and take a right.
4. Go up a hill (100 yards) until you hit a stop sign. This is a 5 way intersection where Beacon crosses with Darlington. There is a 5th road which will be a hard left onto Shaw Ave so turn hard left at the stop.
5. We are about 50 yards down the street, the fourth or fifth house on the right. The numbers are hard to see. We are 1834 Shaw and our neighbors that live upstairs are at 1836 (which is easier to see). Our house is raised 10 feet above the street with a steep grass lawn in front with a hedge row between the lawn and the street. We have a driveway on the left side of our house. We live in the basement and first floor. Somebody else lives on the top floor. They use the left front door. We use the right front door. We also have a side door, from the driveway, which rings the basement buzzer which could be useful if no one is upstairs to hear the front door buzzer. Click here for a picture and map
From Points East (Like my old home town Baltimore):
2. Take I-76 for something like 15 minutes (maybe longer) to I-376, which is exit 6. You can only go one way on I-376 which is west - into pittsburgh.
3. Take I-376 for about 10 minutes until you get to exit 9 which is Swissvale and some other town. At the bottome of the ramp is Braddock Street with a light. At this light, take a right and go about 1 mile. You will head up an incline and go through one light. At the next light will be Forbes Avenue. Turn left.
4. Once you turn left onto Forbes you will go about 100 yards, cross a bridge, go through another 100 yards with park on both sides and then come to a light which is Dallas Ave. Turn Left
5. You go only 15 yards at which point Dallas ends by hitting Beechwood Blvd (no light or stop sign). Turn right.
6. Go another 15 yards on beechwoodand the next left is Beacon. Take that left.
7. Go up a hill (100 yards) until you hit a stop sign. This is a 5 way intersection where Beacon crosses with Darlington. There is a 5th road which will be a hard left onto Shaw Ave so turn hard left at the stop.
