1. Description
   ===========
   Summus' Wavelet Image SDK is shared library which allows programmer's 
   to easily incorporate WI compression into their applications.  
   Summus' WI SDK features flexible compression ratio controls, 
   progressive compression/decompression, region of interest focusing, 
   wavelet magnification, several encoding methods, and the SDK is 
   re-enterable for multi-thread applications.


2. System Requirements
   ===================
   Operating System: SGI IRIX UNIX version 6.2 and higher


3. Installation
   ============
   Untar the swisdk.tar file using command "tar xf swisdk.tar".
   Copy libSWI32.so to the lib path.  The lib path can be /usr/lib, /lib
   or specified by enviroment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH.


4. WI SDK Files
   ============
   swisdk.tar - tar file containing WI SDK
   readme.txt - this file

   swisdk.tar places the following files into the installation directory 
   ---------------------------------------------------------------------
      libSWI32.so  - WI Compression\Decompression shared library
         swi32.h   - header file for SDK
        samwic.c   - sample code for wavelet image compression
        samwid.c   - sample code for wavelet image decompression
        readme.txt - this file


5. Programmer's Notes
   ==================
   To compile sample code, use something like
     cc -o samwic samwic.c -lSWI32
