Surviviable Storage Systems
Jay Wylie
There are many algorithms for data distribution used in survivable
storage systems, for example encrypted-replicas, information dispersal,
and short secret sharing. Little consideration has been given to the
problem of selecting the best data distribution scheme (algorithm +
parameters) that meets specific availability and security requirements.
A model which enables system designers to select the best data
distribution scheme for a particular survivable storage system is
presented.
