The Andrew Development Environment Workbench (ADEW) was the first generally 
available applicaion builder under X11 and has many unique features. It

that allows the placement of any ATK object into the cut-buffer, where it 
can then be placed into an application. All of the standard ATK insets are 
available, including a series of buttons and switches, that have a variety 
of attributes that can be set from the Arbcon.

}After the application has been prototyped, another program can be used to 
automatically create a new inset that has pointers to allow of the 
sub-insets embedded in the prototype, and call back procedures for all of 
the buttons and switches. Some examples include a calculator,
