The lines drawn between ancient and medieval will probably stay the
same.  The line between medieval and modern will stay the same, but
what word will be used for "modern" will almost certainly change.
There will be a new line, probably in the 19th Century to mark a
change from what began in the Renaissance and what ended in the early
19th Century.  I'd expect other lines as well.  There really should be
one between the early ancient cultures and the Classical ones, for
example.
