"What you've heard before" is obviously false. It does us all a great favour
if you read up on a subject _before_ you post something about it.

Just because you never studied Esperanto doesn't mean it isn't "real".
I suppose if you've never studied Wolof, Estonian, Amharic, Vietnamese,
Chukchi...etc, they're not "real", either.  Or maybe you've got
some sort of bias.

Which Esperanto activists?  The title of your post sais "re:
non-sexist language reform - Esperanto."  Otherwise, you quoted
no one.  I would suppose that Esperanto is of use to the people
who speak it, just like any other language is.

...and in sci.lang let people freely post information about languages,
whichever they may be.  If you find some information to be not
factual, please inform the newsgroup.  You can even cite a source!
Don't belittle subjects about which you know nothing.
