Um, when exactly did this supposition become a "fact"?  I've never heard
this explanation for "How!" before and I haven't been able to turn up
any support for it.

I've crossposted to sci.lang in the hopes one of the Sioux experts there
will jump in and show us the hue of the light of truth.
