: Hi :)
:
: I'm not sure if this is the right place for this request - since most of the
: language discussion here seems to centre on European Languages, but, does
: anyone know if there is a grammar available of Northern Pomo?
:
: Northern Pomo was a language spoken in California, USA, just north of San
: Francsisco - and in March of this year the last fluent speaker died. I was
: just wondering whether anyone anywhere knows of a grammar recorded before
: she died.

There were 18 members of the Brown family from the Clear Lake Band of the
Pomo's at the Stanford Powwow, 14 of whom performed traditional dance, to
the singing and drumming/clack-sticking of three others. They said they'd
have brought more but they only had the one car ... I expect there is more
than just a grammer available.

Again, see News from Native California. Xposted to s.c.native, where my Lake
Miwok follow-up is.
