The problem I have in understanding others (mostly Chinese
and Japanese) speaking English is that their pronunciation is
rather awful. Which is no surprise, given the complexity of
English phonetics. Esperanto seems to be much easier - I have
yet to meet an Esperantist who I cannot understand immediately.
