Hi! Hope this is the right newsgroup to post to...I have a question...

Are there (or is there) a test or tests that measure peole's ability to
learn new languages, and perform well in them? How is the test
administered? Are there several variations and do they all operate
without having to be language-specific, ie you do not need two
different tests to determine whether someone will be able to learn
Japanese and French...?

I ask this as both an interested psychology student and as someone who
will shortly have an interview to enter a language course...to do
Russian. How do I convince them I have what it takes? (I know I can do
it!) My background is school German, and hearing Czech from birth
(my mother is Czech)... any suggestions?

Thankyou for your help...if you can give me any information I would
appreciate if you could mail me (I don't read this group as a rule)
at:
     913597at@udcf.gla.ac.uk

Thanks again....

			Chris.
