We've used the Screen Machine II card and had very mixed results. It 
does seem a bit sensitive to camera and PC. However, when you are lucky, it
is capable of giving very good 24-bit capture performance.

Be aware, though, that the setup options are extensive and poorly documented.

Try a different camera, and experiment with different settings. S-Video 
doesn't always give better results than composite, and odd *or* even 
field capture may be better than odd *and* even capture. Many of these 
things are a bit counter-intuitive, and your mileage, as they say, may 
vary...

Personally, I like it because it doesn't care what your PC resolution 
is, and it's got on-board h/w scaling, so you can do really neat video-in-
a-window even on a low-end PC/monitor combination.
