I'm attempting to find a large vocabulary recogniser for a person
who is blind and needs to transcribe continuous speech from a tape into a
computer. The only systems I've found that appear suitable are
DragonDictate, IBM VoiceType Dictation / Osborne system, the Kurzweil
recogniser and the IBM ICSS system.

I would appreciate any opinions on the above systems, ie ease of
use, recommended minimum hardware for 'real' usage, support, their
accuracy, speed etc., as I have no real idea of the performance
of the systems.

Also, if I have missed a suitable recogniser, could you let me know.
Any platform is OK.

I'll post a summary if there is enough interest.

Thanks to anyone who takes the trouble,
