Does anyone out there know of a Chinese text-to-speech
synthesiser that will work on PCs? Indeed, what is the state of Chinese
TTS technology?
I've tried the people at Creative Technology in Singapore, but as yet
they have no Chinese version of their TextAssist software.
I am really looking for synthesised Cantonese speech, although Mandarin
would be acceptable. Ideally the text processor would accept both
characters and romanised (pinyin) script.
Failing this I would be interested to know if anyone is doing any work on
synthesis of Chinese speech.
TIA - James Page.
