We're working on a new project called "The Designer's Apprentice"
which is effectively a novel CAD system with a multimodal input.
( see http://tawny.cs.nott.ac.uk/apprentice/ )

We have bought a SoundBlaster AWE32 and are using the VoiceAssist
software to obtain cheap speech recognition (whilst we save up for
a Dragon System or Cambridge Uni. produce a commercial system).

Unfortunately, the microphone supplied by Creative Labs is pretty
useless. Does anyone have any recommendations for microphones which
will improve the recognition of the VoiceAssist software?

(Any suggestions for microphones compatible with an Ensoniq Soundscape
Wavetable Sound card also welcome!)

Marcus
