I'm looking for info on synthesized speech chips. The FAQ has a
nice section on speech synthesis, listing many hardware and
software products, but it omits chips completely.

I'm looking for a low-cost chip that I can hook up to
microcontroller, which will indicate what phonemes to speak.
The quality won't be very high, but that's OK. I need cheap
talk!

Thanks.
