See my recent post about this. I have tried it with Linux 1.3.18 and 1.3.37
and it crashed on both of them. It works however on 1.2.13. [All kernels were
compiled with (ELF) GCC 2.7.0] 

So there seems to be a problem with the (more recent?) 1.3.X kernels.

If you find out a work-around could you let me know? (I need a recent 1.3.X
kernel for my SCSI tape drive.)
