DEO: Latin (noun dat/abl) lit trans. to, for, by, with or from God.

Science is motivated by the desire to expand, explore, understand. That which
is the result of well understood and integrated exploration is beautiful.
I am pleased by science because it helps me to general and particular
understanding - which I find pleasurable - and for its sometime innate
beauty; but I also enjoy technology, economics, commercial activity and
other forms of creativity for much the same two reasons.

It may be that this is the path to the Tao: that through focus, we find a
path to Great Generality; but I prefer to think that introspection is correct
and that the attraction that I feel stems from the reasons which I have
described and not from something latent, which I do not perceive directly. I
do not believe that I am being led to anything more than the fulfilment of my
own goals; that society is being led by the fulfilment of the goals of its
constituent members and their forms of association, that there is a hidden
hand guiding us towards a manifest destiny.

We are grown up now: we have to make our own home, maintain and clean it.
There are no hidden parents, up there in the attic.
