     INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE ON MYTH AND KNOWLEDGE

Sir Wilfred Grenfell College (Memorial University of
Newfoundland) will hold an interdisciplinary conference on
the theme of "Myth and Knowledge" in Corner Brook,
Newfoundland on May 20-24, 1992.  The conference will bring
together scholars from across Canada and the U.S., and
across disciplines, ranging from the sciences to the
humanities.  Lectures by three distinguished speakers will
highlight the four days of proceedings.  The speakers are
Jamake Highwater, novelist, essayist and commentator on the
arts, and founder of the Native Land Foundation; John Casti,
mathematician and author, currently on the faculty of the
Technical University of Vienna; and third speaker to be
announced.  Deadline for abstracts is February 15, 1992.
