Only thinking about:

A human passes electrical/chemical currents arround in response to input thru
some of his/her ears, which causes him/her to output a pattern of acoustic waves
or written symbols that is perceived by other humans as a numeral which
in turn represents a number...

Apart from calculators/humans having or having not consciousness: Am I wrong?
