Do games with fairly high-level AI actually exist?

I might sound naive. Then again, maybe I -am- naive. But a month
of perusing this newsgroup hasn't really turned up a lot of substantive
discussion of actual software I can purchase/hack/use/eyeball.

I see occasional spurts about systems no longer in use, or about parts
of systems, or about things in progress that I've not seen.

Any enlightenment that could be shed on this subject would be very much
appreciated.
