I think you are saying consciousness is what is called soul or spirit: a
immaterial essence inhabiting a body, pehaps using the brain as a interface with
the muscles and senses. If this is the case, what could a soul be? How could it
be (physically) implemented? What is the mathematical model (if there is one)
that describe its functioning?
