IMO, the only appropriate thing PPD can do now is back-peddle.
Strike that.  Slam it in reverse, peddle to the metal.

Attempting to also do Java leads inevitably to "loss of bone".
Attempting to meet Java somewhere in the middle is again "loss of bone".

The wolf, heavy end of the can in one hand, bone in the other, wades
into the swamp, peering at a whole skeleton surrounded by shiny fish.
Inside the can, engaged in Smalltalk, self family doesNotUnderstand:
(self significance: 'I see a bigger bone').  ^nil.
