Yet another "Java is REALLY x with C++ syntax" argument. (So far, I've
heard x = (in alphabetical order) Ada, Eiffel, Modula3, and Smalltalk.)
Except of course, the real difference between Java and any of these is
that Java is actually popular.

Some of this is true, but I expect that Java support will be available
pretty darn quick, considering the amounts of money that are being
thrown at the problem.

I have no idea why you believe that.  In fact, it makes me wonder whether
you've actually used Java or not.
