Does anyone have any information about Smalltalk usage in the UK? Looking
through the jobs in various publications it seems that what employers want
are Cobol, C++, Visual Basic, and various database development systems.
The extent to which Visual Basic is considered to be a serious programming
environment is astonishing, and the wide use of Visual C++ makes me think
of all that time wasted waiting for compilation and linking (still, keeps
coffee sales up, I suppose!).
