I am trying to find a supplier of an inexpensive angular transducer to
give me the absolute position of a continuously rotating tooth pulley.

An electromagnetic device is preferred as the environment will be
quite dirty. The problem is I onlyknow expensive suppliers of angular
resolvers. Thier output would be ideal though.

A rotating magnet detected by a pair of hall effect devices would
probably give me a SIN/COS signal but I have not started to
experiment with that idea yet !

Does anybody have any recommendations ?

Thanks
