Assuming you are talking about Parallax's Basic Stamp.  I never used it
before, so I could be wrong.  It uses Microchip's micro controller to
interprete tokenized BASIC code stored in a serial EEPROM (electrical
erasable).  None of Microchip's micro controller talks in BASIC.
