The latest issue of Circuit Cellar INK, The Computer Applications
Journal, is a special issue on Robotics. Articles include:

Laser Rangefinding System. A small CCD and IR laser based unit using
a PIC to generate distance measurements. Parts cost is about $150.00
details in the article and the author is looking to license the
design.

Issues in Robot Design.
A look at configuration of a small mobile base and an implementation
of motor controller.

Robotic Motor Control. Like it says. Complete schematics. A nice low
cost, low parts count implementation.

Wireless Remote Control for AVMux. Using xmtr and rcvr from Ming
Engineering for a remote wireless keypad.

See the FAQ for Circuit Cellar Address, but your local (good) newstand
should carry it.
