I am looking for some feed back on some ideas for using stepper motors
and feedback options. My first idea is to use the stepper motors and
driver cards from old 5.25" fullhight drives. By extracting the control
board and stepper motor from the drive, power up the control board,
use input pin 18 to control direction and pin 20 to step the motor.
The second idea is to use the internals from a serial port mouse
to sense feed back from X;Y directions . It seems to me that it
would be easy to extend the diodes off of the circuit board to use on
wheels mounted on shafts of say a telescope.
I would also like to hear ideas on interfacing these with a computer
The stepper motor through the parallel port and the mouse feedback
through the serial port.

... "Bother," said Pooh, as the pin fell out the grenade.
