theres a good r/c servo controller design..for RC servos in the 
May 1993 Computer Craft Magazine.

    you can daisy chain two controller to one RS-232
port...each board can control 8 R/C servos...each board contains two PIC
16C55's one acts as the rs-232 interface and the other is the PWM
controller..

PS. the article also contains information on HOW R/C servos work.
