The San Francisco Robotics Society announces a Robot Sumo Competition to be
held on Sunday, May 1, 1994 at the College of Engineering at San Jose State
University in San Jose, California.

Robot Sumo is a contest in which two robots attempts to push one another from
a small (approximately 5 feet in diameter) circular pad. The robots may compete
in one of two classes, radio-controlled or autonomous. They are restricted in
size (must fit in a 20 cm x 20 cm footprint) and weight (3 kilograms).

The defining rules of the contest are set by Fuji Software in Japan. A copy of
these rules is available from the San Francisco Robotics Society Bulletin Board
( 415-648-6427) or they will be included in return confirmations to registrants
for the contest.

There is no fee to register for the contest. You may enter as many robots as
you desire. If you would like to participate, please fill out the registration
