Rajeev,
The Intel 80188 is an 8 bit ucontroller. The 80186 is a 16 bit
ucontroller. Both are backward code-compatible to the 8086/88.
Both have features making them well suited to a stand alone system. I
have the data books at home, so tell me if you need more info.

I don't know about mini-boards, but finding a compiler is easy. Any
compiler that works with your PC can work with the 188/86. i.e. Borland
C++. You'll need a program like Paradigm (sp??) Locate to convert the DOS
.exe file into a form that can be loaded into a stand-alone, OS-less system.

Jeff
