Vicor makes a wide variety of switching DC/DC converters that will do
the trick. Average of about 85% efficiency. We use them on all of our
battery powered vehicles, and are quite pleased. Get a catalog -
800-735-6200 or 508-470-2900.

BTW, I have a bunch of VI-J40 and J41 modules available. 55 - 100 VDC
in, 5 or 12 VDC out. Send me mail if you're interested.
