I have a few of Superior Electrics motors, and they are also stamped
with SLO-SYN. This is a trade mark, as there is a small (r) next to it.
Mine are marked with the number of steps per revolution, indicating that
they are steppers, but also the fact that they are marked as
Synchronous Stepping motors.
Yours sounds like it is a synchro motor, with feedback connections.
Try contacting the manufacturer, as they may be more helpful in the
long run.
