Due to an email problem you may not have got this which was posted
out on August 23rd... very sorry, Ken.

                       WORLD ROBOT CHAMPIONSHIPS

The response since the public launch of the World Robot Championships
a few months ago has been excellent: we could never have anticipated
that we would receive the number of robots entered in the last month
alone. So much so that it would now be impossible to accomodate all
of the entries even if we were to run the competition 24 hours a day.

Therefore, instead of taking place at the Royal Concert hall next month,
we have decided to reschedule the World Robot Championships for next
spring/summer. This will enable various heats and national elimination
contests to take place in several different countries. Much as we don't
like having to do this, it is the only solution which is both practical
and fair to everyone involved.

A new date for the Championships will shortly be announced in order to
maintain the world-wide momentum which has built up. The rescheduled
Championships will still comprise the 200 robots originally projected to
take part, however, these will now represent the best 200 of those
currently queuing up to enter.

Yours faithfully,

        Ken MacFarlane
