A few months ago, a friend of mine showed me a neat business
card, which had a force sensing resistor in it, with contacts
to hook it into a circuit. These force sensing resistors (FSR's)
seem to be the answer to alot of the questions I've seen lately
about pressure sensing. They're small enough, that you could
mount one on the bottom of each leg of a robot.

There is an article about them in the March 1993 issue of
Electronics Now/Radio Electronics. It has plenty of good info
in it.

The company that the business card was from, is the same one
that they mention in the article. Here's the company's info:

Interlink Electronics
1110 Mark Ave.
Carpinteria, CA 93013

The article suggests writing on company letterhead...
They sent me a bunch of info, techinal stats, and pricing...
They have a prototype kit available which contains a good
assortment of FSRs... I think it even includes a linear one,
which is like a potentiometer...
