Chalk up another probably-yes vote for breaking comp.robotics in two. How
exactly to make the cut I'm not sure, but here's a thought or two:

Seperate comp.robotics.hardware from comp.robotics, with the latter being
for discussions of general methods and general solutions to problems, where
general means not specific to any one device. Questions like "What kind of
camera do I want to do X" would go on comp.robotics, but an ensuing
discussion of the pros and cons of a particular class of cameras would
move to comp.robotics.hardware

Seperate comp.robotics.research and comp.robotics.building:
seperate discussion of the cutting edge from everything else.

Seperate comp.robotics.research and comp.robotics.hobby -- same as above,
but the dividing line is perhaps in a different place.
