Monty,

I happened to see your request for DC motors for robotic devices and
also notice your request for info on large DC motors for a electric
car conversion.  Some time ago, I was interested in doing a car con-
version using an Opel 1600 and a 400 AMP (yes... 400 amperes) DC
GENERATOR.  As I recall these generators were used on B-52 planes
and were conservatively rated.  Their maximum output was 800 amps!
They were available from West coast surplus suppliers at reasonable
costs.  Ihave the specs, plans, schematics, and suppliers somewhere.
If I can find them I'll let you know. But I thought that you would
like to know that there are other possibilities for DC powered cars.
