100% correct.  :-(  But that's the way it goes.  Another way to win
is by having low overhead, no girlfriend, and no mortgage.  Then
you will be able to outlast most big black corporations, even.  But
very few people would be willing to go *that* far.

Remember, the original post was asking whether he should send out
a resume with other peoples graphics in it.  Bad idea, unless 
they've been properly licensed.  Also, remember, one day that guy
will be on the other side of the fence, watching people sending
out resumes with *his* graphics on them.  Tends to change your
point of view pretty quick.

Now, what's the matter with being stimulated to produce new, great
graphics?  Instead of just copying someone else's
