We've been doing work with neural control of nonlinear, unstable systems. One
technique we've developed is the ability to shape the performance of the system,
that is that we can modulate the error deadband and the settling times for
individual degrees-of-freedom. This is useful when the system changes over time,
or at some point of operation higher performance is needed. The advantage is that
there is no gain scheduling (switching gain sets). My question is: does anybody
know of any similar work being done? I'd appreciate any leads.
