The Advanced Process Modeling and Control Group at DuPont has an
opening for a Post-Doctoral candidate to participate in a project on
"Intelligent Resistance Welding". This ATP sponsored project,
organized within a consortium consisting of automobile manufacturers,
suppliers and several research organizations, has the overall goal of
improving the quality and consistency of resistance welds in automobile
bodies.

The work at the DuPont Experimental Station (Wilmington, DE) involves
the application of Neural Nets related techniques to the modeling and
control of the resistance welding process. Candidates are sought with
strong backgrounds in process control and neural networks. Knowledge
of welding technology would be beneficial, but is not a requirement.

Funding is guaranteed for one year, with the potential for a full 3
year assignment. The position is available immediately.
