Subject: GA-List user poll

Greetings!

You may have forgotten about your subscription to GA-List,
but it has not expired! There has been an extreme lack of
activity these past few months, presumably because everyone
was simply exhausted after this summer's Conference,
but it is now time to bounce back!

Let's start the network activity rolling again with a poll.
Please respond to this message by briefly describing your current
or planned GA-based work. Please include the following info:

APPLICATION AREA: (Combinatorial optimization, simulation,
	cognitive modeling, etc.)

GENERAL APPROACH: (Theoretical analysis, function optimization
with GA, classifier systems, searching a program
	space with Pitt approach, etc.)

GA TOOL: (GENESIS, CFS-C, custom software?)

RESULTS: (good, bad, indifferent)

PROBLEMS (parameter settings, representation, etc.)

Please respond to GA-List@nrl-aic.arpa

Results will be posted to the net.
Hope to hear from you.

Subject: position available

The Artificial Intelligence Department
of Philips Research Laboratories, North American Philips Corp.
is initiating a project on the evolution of neural net designs
using Genetic Algorithms.

An employment opportunity exists for someone with an MS or PhD
in a relevant area (including but not limited to CS and EE)
and interest in the pursuit of machine learning research.
Direct experience with either neural nets or Genetic Algorithms
is a plus.

Subject: Interest in ICGATA 85 Proceedings

As most of you know, there was a lot of interest at the
Conference in the Proceedings of the 1985 Conference
on GA's and Their Applications. In fact, we sold off
all the remaining copies! I am exploring the options
in getting these reprinted, and I need an indication
of the level of interest. Please let me know if you, or
someone you know, would be interested in buying a copy of
the 1985 Proceedings. If the interest is sufficient, I will
arrange the reprinting.

Please respond directly to me. Thanks.
