Subject: GAs/CS for Pattern Recognition

I would like to add my name to the list of attendants to the Learning
Manchine Conference.

I am interested in using GA's and/or Classifier systems for use in pattern
recognition systems. One idea is to use the Classifiers to I.D. syntactic
features and relations instead of trying to I.D. the semantic features and
their relationships. I haven't noticed any reports on this in the literature
but if someone has please let me know.
I also have an interest in using GA's and/or Classifier systems to assist in
the construction of Artificial Neural Networks. Also I am interested what it
takes to construct an ANN that performs the same functions as a classifier
system.

Tools:
Rick Riolo's CFS-C tool kit
and some home brew tools (modified from the down loads of both Byte and
Computer Language magazines).

John,
I'm also attending the Ann Arbor Conference next week. See you there.

Subject: GAs for Neural nets

I am a student at The Johns Hopkins University at Baltimore MD.
I am extremely interested in genetic algorithms, and request that
I be able to subscribe to the Genetic Algorithm mailing list.
One element of GA's which I am interested in is genetically specified
neural pathways in recurrent neural networks.
