ASA seems to have a poor "memory" between runs, unless I have a bug in my
program. Unlike genetic algorithms, which keep around a diversity of
populations that have proven most "fit" in various different local optima,
ASA appears to throw everything but one vector out and start anew thus
repeatedly hitting suboptimal positions with a relatively high degree of
probability.

I hope I'm missing something fundamental, because I just blew off the better
part of a weekend trying to get it to work the way I want.

The promotion of politics exterminates apolitical genes in the population.
The promotion of frontiers gives apolitical genes a route to survival.
