Obsci.lang:  Until the Nazis ruined it, "Aryan" was also used (in
English too) for the group of languages that we now call "Indo-
European".  It is said to come from a Sanskrit word for "noble",
however, so perhaps it always had a racist tinge.  Probably we are
well rid of it, tho "IE" is longwinded and (if it is really true that
the group originated in Turkey) not particularly descriptive.
