>EUROPEAN UNION: THE DEAD END

If Europe fails to unify, it will surely create another huge-scale war
between its nations, which will again spill out into the rest of the world.
This is an aspect of history which one should avoid repeating. If the nations
must compromise some aspects of sovereignty to avoid conflagration, so be it!

The EU is not a dead end-- nationalism is a dead (ly) end.

The Eurocrats will not allow the language of one of the member-states to become
the only language of the Union-- it is not at all democratic. They can
continue to rally around the bureaucratic solution, insisting on the wasteful
translation into all state-approved languages; impose a fascistic solution of
insisting that all EU business be conducted in the strongest language (would
that be English or German?); or create a situation where democracy and
efficiency can be served by utilizing a non-national (and therefore neutral)
planned language.
