Perhaps most residents of the United States of America think that the
word "America" refers to a country, but many Canadians, Mexicans,
Nicaraguans, Brazilians, et al. will disagree and some will even take
offense.
It is not true that "most people" understand the world as do Usonians.
[BTW I understand that this cute word "Usonian" was coined by Emerson. Can
anybody support or refute?]
