According to the ancient Gondwanalander legend,

There was at one time a very precise definition of the ideal Esperanto
accent. The Universa Kongreso noticed that a particular Italian actress
came very close to their concensus of what the language should sound
like, and declared it the model. Thus, by definition, she spoke with no
accent.
