Dear Friends,

There will be a BASoFA (Bay Area Software Frameworks Association) meeting
this Thursday, November 3, at 7:00 PM, in the Building 4 Auditorium at
Apple's R&D campus (Infinite Loop) in Cupertino.

This month will feature Rick Fleischman speaking on Dylan:

Dylan is a new object-oriented dynamic programming language that provides
a dramatic increase in programmer productivity while at the same time
allows for the delivery of small, fast applications. Apple is developing
a leading-edge, breakthrough development environment to support this
language providing incremental development and advanced customizable
browsing.

In this talk, you will hear an overview of the Dylan project at Apple,
including a brief discussion of the Dylan programming language, and a
detailed demonstration of a pre-release version of Apple Dylan. Q&A will
follow.

As usual, after the meeting we'll get together for food and conversation
at the nearby Peppermill.

Directions:
Take 280 and exit at Sunnyvale/Saratoga Rd (aka DeAnza Blvd). Go south
(towards the foothills) and turn left at the first light on to Mariani.
Drive to the end of the street and turn left onto Infinite Loop. Continue
on Infinite Loop until you reach Building 4. The auditorium is right off
the lobby.

For the December meeting (Thursday, December 1) we're planning to have
Kurt Piersol present on OpenDoc.
